Rex has worked Internationally for over 3 1/2 decades in some 26 countries, primarily in the advertising world of TV and print campaigns, as a. Producer/Director. Learning in the days of film prior to digital he took photography as an added component to his craft. Now he uses this as an art form and communicative storytelling component for his passion for people. He likes to develop a bold and demonstrative style for the people he photographs. In his words: “It’s all about capturing the essence of who you are, just for a moment”

OUR APPROACH:

PRE-SHOOT CONSULTATION

  • A pre-shoot consultation is part of our process, as there are many elements in photographing you: the way that you want, and what you will wear. The main purpose is obviously to get a clear idea of what you are expecting to receive and to answer your questions. We try not to turn up on the day and hope for the best. It’s all in the planning, and we aim to treat each situation as professionally as possible.

BREAKDOWN OF THE BUSINESS – SESSION FEES

  • For any in-studio portrait session, we charge a fee, non-refundable of $150 (for studio fee), and this will be due at the time of booking to secure your session date. As we no longer have our studio, it helps to reduce unnecessary overheads.
  • For on-location (over a 1-hour trip before expenses) portrait sessions/beauty sessions/special interest sessions – a non-refundable payment of .50 cents a kilometer (travel fee and petrol expenses​). This will be payable before the shoot and any travel is calculated on the distance covered.
  • Photographic fees start at $250.00 per hour including equipment and lighting, (strobe, LED, reflected light/scrims). Most sessions take 2 to 3 hours minimum including set up, clothing changes, and look variations. We do not just walk on, walk off approach to the process. You can get to see and tweak the imagery as we go.

A LA CARTE AND COLLECTIONS ARE PRICE ON APPLICATION.

  • We can charge for printing, but these can vary so much with size, quality of paper, and turnaround, that we need to know specifically what you require before we quote.
  • What you normally get from us is a series of finished images in 10, 20, 30, or more all at high-resolution downloads.
  • 90% of our clients purchase a collection with the option to upgrade at the viewing session to enjoy even more imagery. You save 15-50% off our image pricing when you purchase. We offer collections of 10, 20, and 30 images. We can also tailor to your specific needs. Individual images are $35.00 each, with a minimum of 3.
  • All images are photoshopped as part of any deal, or individually produced. Selected raw files (originals) will be handed over after final payments are made.

MAKEUP AND HAIR

  • Our basic portrait sessions for $550 offer complimentary Makeup and hair for one person. The session fee does not change if you prefer to go with your own or no Makeup & Hair
  • For more than one person, Professional Hair and Makeup is available at $150 per person

PAYMENT METHODS

  • We prefer payments to be made by direct bank transfer, PayPal, or cash. GST is required (we are a NZ registered company, GST EXEMPT for International clients)​​
  • Layby payment plans are available but do not incur a fee. Due to the nature of the product, there are no returns or refunds.
  • Any products purchased require a 100% payment before you receive the product.

RESCHEDULING AND CANCELATION

  • Session dates can be rescheduled with a minimum 48-hour notice for another date within a month of the initial date subject to availability. Since reschedules or cancellations mean we do not work that day as we do not book at the last minute, and our hair and makeup artist and any assistant have blocked the day on their calendars as well, the rescheduling fee of $200 will apply.

​Sessions canceled by the client are non-refundable. If the session is outdoors, it may be postponed at the photographer’s discretion due to unfavorable weather that may affect the images in the final edit.

We can leave the printing to you, and with so many options available in today’s world, half the time, imagery ends up on social media. We can arrange for large-scale printing of imagery, but that cost is additional. However, if you decide to have the printing done yourself, we cannot be held responsible for the quality of the finished article.
